Module 2: Trauma-Informed Research Practices & Ethical Considerations (Online)

About the workshop
90 minutes, online on Zoom
Small cohort to enable discussions
A combination of didactic and interactive activities
Goal:
Learn trauma-informed methods for planning research sessions, structuring questions, and maintaining psychological safety.
Learning Outcomes:
Learn trauma-informed research protocols that integrate pacing, sequencing, clear boundaries, and choice points to support trauma-informed principles.
Plan for psychological safety before, during, and after a session.
Apply trauma-informed language and micro-skills in research interactions.
Rewrite interview questions and research scripts to reduce pressure, clarify choice, and foster participant dignity and autonomy.
Recognize cues that indicate the need to redirect, pause, or stop a session, and apply practical, ethical strategies to do so while maintaining safety and trust.
Workshop includes:
Didactic presentation
Interactive/practical activities and discussions in a small cohort
Take-home resources and worksheets
Investment (CAD)
Self-funded $120: choose this option if you are an individual designer paying out of pocket (e.g., freelancer).
Organization-funded $160: choose this option if your organization is paying for the course/workshop.
Reduced rate $90: a few slots available for students, unemployed folks, and non-profit staff. If you don’t meet these three categories, please leave the slots to those who need them.
Cancellation policy
Full refund: We will honour cancellation requests submitted by email at hitomi@cocoro-colab.com if you cancel at least 14 days before the session. A $30 administrative fee will be deducted.
Late cancellations: Cancellations made less than 14 days before the session are non-refundable.
Ticket transfers: If you cannot attend, you may transfer your registration to a colleague or friend. Please contact to arrange this at least 3 days before the session.
